Blog 8: There's comments now?
I had stayed up all night setting up comments for the website. It was a fun process, a little difficult I must say. The comments are powered by a free and open source tool called Cusdis. There’s many ways of implementing it for a website, a hard one and an easy one. Because I hate myself I opted for the hard, that meant self host. I won’t go in to details.
The comments are working well, so far. It’s very annoying to do any type of web development because of cashes.
Since I am self hosting comments this means that they are privacy respecting. I am the custodial of the data, that being whatever is provided in the comment form, nickname, email, comment, time of date when the comment was send, nothing more. Oh boy I can’t wait to get myself started in the data mining business, we’re the new Amazon baby! It’s all jokes here. I as the admin of The Doom Club am a benevolent dictator, we all love that in tech right?
Leave your mark upon the world, send a comment to my website!
